The J/T angles are on the forms and in the BRIS programs, so I don't want to pay attention to public data like that.

As for harness racing I don't look at them at all. I once heard a little old lady coming into the race area from the slots say "I wanted to bet that horse because he is a driver change to Brian Sears." I want to be fading that action.Pull the Pockethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05082676049275768769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8560898823512627114.post-42962330761080391922009-02-17T23:11:00.000-05:002009-02-17T23:11:00.000-05:00Might the Jockey though be more important than the...Might the Jockey though be more important than the driver. Do we consider the Jockey at all in our betting angles, or should we just throw it out.SaratogaSpahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05181152277681879529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8560898823512627114.post-10891250579356968492009-02-17T18:10:00.000-05:002009-02-17T18:10:00.000-05:00I always look at it that jockey or driver who make...I always look at it that jockey or driver who makes the least mistakes will have the best outcomes.
Proof is the frequency of horse who throw their jockey and wind up beating the field. I don't think it is lack of weight that does it, but lack of dead weight.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8560898823512627114.post-82627624665127967612009-02-17T13:23:00.000-05:002009-02-17T13:23:00.000-05:00"I don't understand. A bad driver (like say a part time trainer driver) will make a mistake more often and the horse will go 152. A good driver will get the horse closer to his 151 potential, more often. But most importantly, they do not make a horse genetically capable of going 151, go 149.Pull the Pockethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05082676049275768769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8560898823512627114.post-82232158304450297222009-02-17T10:44:00.000-05:002009-02-17T10:44:00.000-05:00"but isn't he a good jockey for getting 15 more ho..."but isn't he a good jockey for getting 15 more horse to win than could be expected."

Andy's point is that such a person does not exist.
