Horse racing is about betting........Please wake up. Horse racing is about betting.....that's it....plain and simple. It will go away without people betting on it. The game on synthetic surfaces is 100% guessing. You might as well play the lottery. The big bettors are leaving in huge numbers because of synthetic tracks. Go back to dirt or die.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04878965729033517974noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8560898823512627114.post-37797976843408985702010-01-21T07:43:47.050-05:002010-01-21T07:43:47.050-05:00Which part of society are most resistant to change...Which part of society are most resistant to change? The writer is right.... we need something in return... not just "no" and return to the old. Synthetics are safer, that is why there are ten people who know about tracks saying that versus one who says the opposite.

"Soft tissue injury" is my favorite excuse. No horse dies from soft tissue injuries. As well, if these trainers and short-sighted owners would give horses time off to heal their ailments rather than using chemistry and god knows what else they will do just fine and probably make more money for them in the longterm.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8560898823512627114.post-61549712938524641482010-01-20T16:56:29.214-05:002010-01-20T16:56:29.214-05:00When is someone going to scrutinize the assertions...When is someone going to scrutinize the assertions made by Rick Arthur. This guy is a liar for hire and all you have to do is make a little effort to come to that conclusion.

How on earth can you take the worst three years of a dirt surface and compare them with new synthetic material with a new base? You can't.

People who write about racing need to step up and challenge these idealouges.

C'mon now! Just a little common sense please?

AndymaysAndyMaysnoreply@blogger.com
